There are many pleasing ways to grow pendulous willows. This quick-growing shrub can easily be trained to cascade over a retaining wall. Another option is to graft Pendula onto straight stock - S. smithiana is supposed to the best for grafting - so that the branches weep to the ground.

Highly ornamental.

That's a boot on the left for size comparison.

Description: small pendulous form; .5 m (20"); very effective in a small area growing on mounded soil

Conditions: full sun to part shade; moderately drought tolerant; tolerates poor soil; pruning stimulates fresh pendulous growth

Coldest zone: 3 (find your zone; further info on plant hardiness)
